The usual stars
Cielo, Alshammar, Cavic, Coventry and Adlington: these are the names on fire in this hot morning at the Roma09 World Championships.
The Brasilian swimmer keeps on wondering even in the 50m Freestyle and enters the final with the best time, improving the Championships record.
Threse Alshammar is the real surprise of the morning. In a very tight 50m Butterfly heat, where four swimmers have improved the Championships record, the Swedish touched first only eleven hundreth seconds behind the world record.
Milorad Cavic defated Phelps in the 100m Butterfly, while Coventry set the Championships record – 2:06.72 - after having set here in Rome the World record.
Australia leads the Men’s 4x200 Freestyle Relay heats and Italy entered the final with the last available time. The morning session also sees satisfactions for Adlington and Filippi who will both join the final of tomorrow for another breathless challenge.
