An intense day for the Diving Platform. The morning opened with the women’s 3m Springboard preliminaries at the Swimming and Diving Stadium. Chinese Jingjing Guo (377.75) and Zi He (341.40) got before Italian Tania Cagnotto (321.90) followed by American Cristiana Loukas (315.15).
In the afternoon another selection for twelve athletes that tomorrow will compete on the Springboard for a medal at 3:30 p.m. Jingjing Guo (368.10) confirmed once again her first position outdistancing Canadian Jennifer Abel (351.65) and the other Chinese Zhi He (351.45); fourth place for Tania Cagnotto. Mexican Paola Espinosa, gold medal in 10m Platform in these Championships, stopped at the 13th position.
About men’s competitions, the first selection in the 10m Platform saw Chinese Bo Qiu (515.75) prevailing on Cuban José Antonio Guerra Oliva (515.65) and the other Chinese Luxin Zhou (495.55). Tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. the Semifinals will be disputed; Final is scheduled at 5:45 p.m.
