Women's Waterpolo: Russia with the highest score
The group B and C rankings begin to be outlined in the women’s Water Polo. With Greece’s and Russia’s victories, respectively over Kazakhstan and USA, group B show Russians as leaders with four points, followed by Americans and Greeks at two points.

Kazakhstan is the back marker: the first day it had suffered a KO (19-6) by the “Stars and Stripes” team. After a balanced first period, Greece clearly steps up keeping its advantage until the end of the match. Gerolimou and Roumpesi with two “hat-tricks” make the difference against the flawed and imprecise in shooting Kazakhs.

Nip and tuck for USA and Russia in the second match of the day. At the end of the third period, the result is 10-9 for the American; in the fourth Russian reaction is ready. The team equalizes with Vylegzhanina at 3’48 and then it scores the victory goal with Belyaeva at thirty second to the final whistle.

About group C, after the victories by Australia on South Africa (23-2) and Canada on New Zealand (12-6), Australians and Canadians, that had drawn 6-6 in the first day, lead the ranking with three points. Third place for New Zealanders at two points, followed by South Africans at sea level.

A big gap between Australia and South Africa, with the first ones to lead the match. Much more fight in New Zealand-Canada, which sees the Americans prevailing in the last period on the rivals. Tomiuk and Perreault of Canada are the women of the match together with New Zealander Kelly: both Canadians and the islander are “hat-trickers”
