Synchro: Russia gives no quarter to its rivals
Spins, handstands and pirouettes in the water are Russian prerogative again: Anastasia Davydova and Svetlana Romashina deservedly won the Duet Technical Final (with 98.667 points). Once again the silver medal goes to Spanish Andrea Fuentes and Gemma Mengual (97.333) and the bronze medal to the Jiang twins (95.667). A great performance by Japanese Inui and Kobayashi (94.333), who got the fourth place preceding Italian Adelizzi and Lapi (93.834).

The Russian synchronettes performance was captivating: on the Rossini’s “Figaro” notes they enchanted the numerous spectators on the stands who awarded their victory with a warm applause. Also the jury clearly ratified winner’s primacy with a string of 9.9.

Anastasia Davydova (RUS) – Gold Medal
«We are very happy with our performance and also with our result. After yesterday's performance we knew already that our 'enemies' were far away from us. A gold medal is of course a very good achievement for us».

Wenwen Jiang (CHN) – Bronze medal
«We are very satisfied with this result because we improved our performance of yesterday (in the preliminaries). Now we need to focus on the next competition. We did well today because the marks we got from the judges in the preliminaries gave our confidence a boost».
