CLAUDIO BAGIONI WILL SING THE OFFICIAL ROMA 09 ANTHEM The artist will play the song live on Saturday July 18th during the opening ceremony
Claudio Baglioni will be author and interpreter of the official anthem of the 13th FINA World Championships: the world championships for the five aquatic disciplines that will take place in Rome from July 17th to August 2nd 2009.
The Roma 09 Organizing Committee of Roma 09 decided to commit the realization of the anthem to the musician to repeat the extraordinary international success of “acqua nell’acqua” (the song written and interpreted by Baglioni himself for the FINA world championships on 1994) and to celebrate the return of this competition to Rome 15 years later.
No indiscretion, so far, about title, theme and structure of the song, as the musician is composing it with the maximum reserve.
At the moment what is certain is that Baglioni himself will present the anthem of Rome 09 live, accompanied by a great orchestra, on Saturday July 18th during the opening ceremony of the event.
Baglioni isn’t new to these kinds of productions as, beside the already mentioned anthem for the FINA world championships of 1994, he also signed the anthem for the world football championships of 1998 (“Da me a te”) and the anthem for the winter Olympic games in Turin in 2006 (“Va”) .
