Fifth day of competitions at the Swimming and Diving Stadium. The most important facts are the three Championships records which have been set by Eric Shanteau (Men’s 200m Breaststroke), Annamay Pierse (Women’s 200m Breaststroke) and the British national team in the Women’s 4x200m Freestyle. American Amanda Weir reached the 100m Freestyle Semifinals with the best time, while Japanese Ryosuke Irie makes the same in the Men’s 200m Backstroke Semifinals. Italians Sebastiano Ranfagni and Damiano Lestingi achieved their Semifinals in the Men’s 200m Backstroke, while the other “azzurro” Loris Facci set the third time in the Men’s 200m Breaststroke heats and he will swim his Semifinal this afternoon.
