OPEN WATER - Men's 10km final ranking sub judice. Final decision will be taken tomorrow.
The final ranking of the Men’s 10km Open Water Swimming event is suspended till tomorrow, when the Jury d’Appel represented by the FINA Bureau will take a final decision.
The Chief Judge validated the appeal made by Italy and Greece after the American Francis Crippen (rule 7.1) crossed the area leading to the finish apparatus before touching third the finish wall ahead of Italian Valerio Cleri. Later, the United States appealed to the Jury d’Appel.
The sub-judice ranking is led by Thomas Lurz (GER) and by Andrew Gemmel (USA).
