Cseh, Descenza, Walters and Gerasimenya are the morning protagonists
A calm morning waiting for the afternoon’s fireworks. Four specialties were disputed in the fourth day of swimming competitions: Women’s 50m Backstroke, Men’s 100m Freestyle, Women’s 200m Butterfly and Men’s 200m Medley. In the earliest heats, Russian Aleksandra Gerasimenya sets the best time in the 50m Backstroke and stands as a candidate for the tomorrow’s Final. Then, the “jet” men of the 100m Freestyle dive into the water. American Walters sets the best time with 47.59. All the best go to Semifinals: Bernard, Cielo, Hayden and Magnini. The only exploit is performed by American Mary Descenza, who marks the new World record in the Women’s 200m Butterfly with the time of 2:04.14. Last but not least, Laszlo Cseh rules the Men’s 200m Medley heats with the best time.
