Russian Efimova shines, a good Italy in the Men's 1500 Freestyle
Yuliya Efimova’s exploit characterized the morning: in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke she missed the World record for hundredth a second (30.24). The champion Rebecca Soni completed the heats at the seventh position.
In the Women’s 50m Freestyle, Campbell got the better of Veldhuis (fourth position), while in the Men’s 50m Backstroke Brazilian Guido stopped the chronometer at 24.49.
Italy was disqualified in the Women’s 4x100 Medley, where China rules.
The Men’s 1500m Freestyle completed the morning session: Canadian Ryan Cochrane led the ranking with the time of 14:56.56: the World record is only 22 hundredths of seconds far away. Good performances for the “azzurri” Colbertaldo and Pizzetti, both qualified for the tomorrow’s Final.
