Women's Water Polo, Australia and Spain to the quarter finals
After the first four match of the third day Women’s Water Polo tournament, the rankings in Groups C and D were outlined.
Group C is leaded by Australia with five points, which means its direct qualification to the quarter finals, also thanks to the great victory (14-4) against New Zealand. Canada gets the second place (with five points but with a worse goal difference) after inflicting a hard KO (20-5) to South Africa, while the third place goes to New Zealand (2 points).
Also Spain, which won over Brazil 12-6, flies to the quarter finals thanks to the first placement in Group D. Holland and Germany get respectively the second and the third place and qualify for the next session. In today’s match between these teams, Dutch get better than Germans for 8-6.
So, in the next tournament Canada will face Germany, while New Zealand will play against Holland.
Last positions in the respective groups for South Africa and Brazil: they will play for the 13th position.
