18/07/2008The presentation of the Championships medals
Today, 18th of July, during the Press Conference held at the “Terrazza Civita” the official Medals of the 13th FINA World Championships has been presented.
The official Medals has been coined in a bronze alloy of 80mm diameter and the weight of around 230 grams. For the gold and silver medals a particular treatment in pure gold and silver is foreseen. The design of the medals has been realized by Patrizio Daniele, member of the Medal Arts School of the “Zecca dello Stato”.
The front side is the same for all the five disciplines, the Roma09 logo stands on the graphic design of a swimming pool, on the bottom of the Medal the Colosseum, symbol of the City of Rome, on the left a laurel branch symbol of sport victory. All round the Medal the written “13th FINA World Championships”. The five aquatic disciplines, swimming, water polo, open water swimming, diving and synchronized swimming, are represented on the back side.
