Roma09 in Riccione – March 4th 2009

«I’ve just started to win, I’m too hungry. I don’t miss motivations. In this moment, this is a massacre I can face, I know the rules, that’s why I’m training for World Championships more than what I did for Olympics. Even if last year it would have seemed impossible to me» - Federica PELLEGRINI

«In Riccione I’ll take part in three races and the delays but, if I will qualify for all six, in July I will certainly choose to take part only in three, prepared the best I can. I don’t want to choose between mixed and freestyle, this year I’ll work on both specialities and, perhaps, by next season I’ll change tactics. Whatever, my enemy number one will be English Rebecca Adlington» - Alessia FILIPPI

«I say nobody will bring the medal from home, in next World Championships» - Alessia FILIPPI

«World Championships are important, you know how I care, but, as seen, you find tension in South Africa or in China. We are in March: I don’t know how it will be in July. Anyway, I’ve got to live calmly this waiting» - Alessia FILIPPI

«I prefer to speak in water: starting from my European record. And if I have to choose, I prefer the 800 m World race. The 1500 m race can bring out my features» - Alessia FILIPPI

Roma09 in Riccione – March 5th 2009

«He worked well, Damiano knew he could do great things, but going under the 1’57” is something crazy. Now it’s important to not consider the Italian record as an arrival point, but just as a starting point. He’s just 20-years-old, and what he needs is just to have higher ambitions: he knows he deserves the finals of the World Championships in Rome, and it’s necessary not to relax» - Fabio DE SANTIS (Damiano LESTINGI’s coach)

Roma09 in Riccione – March 6th 2009

«I got the pass for Roma’s World Championships, it’s just a dream. Home World Championships are once in a lifetime and I want to make the best in this occasion, even if I’ve got to work hardly, because this time won’t allow me to get a medal» - Marco BELOTTI

Roma09 in Riccione – March 7th 2009

«I had a stress crisis that occurs me at the border of the swimming pool. I tried to control it, but I couldn’t. It’s an issue I’ve got to overcome by myself, I’m going to talk about it with my analyst. It also depends on long distances: I feel unconfortable. But at the World Championships I want to win the 400 m» - Federica PELLEGRINI

«The “Emilia-factor” was born. In Bologna you work calmly, with continuous jokes. I was so happy to take part at the World Championships that I fell down the stairs… Now my goal is the final at the World Championships» - Mirko DI TORA
Roma09 in Riccione – March 8th 2009

«Thanks to Filippo Magnini, his presence transformed the final into a world event. Now I hopefully go on towards Rome » - Alessandro TERRIN

«Today I really feel fine, and I’m really happy for this time which reminds me the same experiences I lived five years ago. I’ve always loved speed and swimming well the 100 m helps me to face the so feared long way races. I’d rather go back to the 100 m but I’ve got two world records to defend in Rome» - Federica PELLEGRINI

«Rome? I thought I would have watched World Championships on TV. Are you telling me I’m only two tenths of a second far from the time? It seems incredible to me coming before champions like Boggiatto, Plos, Panara. Who knows when I will realize what I did!» - Martina CARRARO

«In five years I feel like I lived three lives. I’m very happy. Castagnetti, my coach, would like me to swim the 50 m twice with the same time: maybe, one day, I will» - Federica PELLEGRINI

«A second Olympics, in a wonderful place. At the Foro Italico the view takes your breathe away. It doesn’t happen everyday to have the possibility to take part in a home World Championships. That’s why I really care about it. And I have this opportunity in the best moment of my career» - Alessia FILIPPI

Roma09 in Riccione – March 9th 2009

«I expected more in terms of chronometer; anyway, it’s a satisfying result for me to qualify in three different specialities for next World Championships» - Filippo MAGNINI

«I’m very happy. I won five races, I got three World Championships’ passes and I registered an Italian record. Could I ask for more?» - Alessia FILIPPI

«I finished these heats well and I’m happy I turned back to race in the backstroke, but at the World Championships I’ll add a new race in free style: the 400 m» - Alessia FILIPPI

«I did a very bad lap time: 23”5, I can’t be happy. I did a slow turn, even if a year ago I did it in two tenths of second more, then I don’t have to worry thinking about the World Championships» - Filippo MAGNINI

«It’s important to think about Rome’s World Championships, you know how I care about racing in the most beautiful swimming pool in the world, I’m trying to do the best I can. They will be good World Championships» - Federica PELLEGRINI

Roma09 in Riccione – March 9th 2009

«How to exorcize my fear of the 400 m? I’ll only do some tests; you’ll see the best “Fede” at the World Championships» - Federica PELLEGRINI

«I won’t change my programs for the World Championships even if I’m always thinking about racing in the 100 m in Rome. I care too much about these World Championships, I’m home, in a swimming pool I love. But my rivals are always there; finding someone else would not surprise me» - Federica PELLEGRINI

«How do I find new motivating forces? Lifting up my eyes. There are World Championships in Rome, I really care about’em» - Federica PELLEGRINI
