Filippo Magnini: ’I ever loved Rome’
Still six months to go to the Olympic Games of Beijing, still one year and a half to the World Championships Roma 2009, for which Santiago Calatrava has designed and projected the locations. To Filippo Magnini : How do you live the expectation for these great goals? ’Usually I don’t think of these appointments. Here in America, for example, I’m not thinking all the time of the Olympic Games. I can not say it is a rational choice or a mental plan. The thing is I’m a happy person, inside and outside the swimming pool. I’m going through a period of extreme personal realization , in sport and my private life, maybe for this reason Beijing doesn’t overbear me, also if I’m preparing myself with great commitment. On my side I will give my best at the beginning of the competitions, as I always did and it worked until today.’
You live in Rome. What opinion do you have? ’It was immediately love since I came here when I was young to see the Italian Championships. Atmosphere, different situations, beauty and history. And above this for the World Championships of the 2009, a city will be built.’
These questions have been taken from the interview of Sunday 3rd February made by Mrs. Rita Sala, to the twice World Champion of the 100 mt. freestyle Filippo Magnini. The whole interview can be read inside the website of Roma 2009 (www.roma09.it).
