The FINA Executive Director Mr. Cornel Marculescu together with his staff met yesterday and today the representatives of the 13th FINA World Championships Organizing Committee, scheduled from the 18th July to 2nd of August 2009 in Rome. The meeting with the President of Roma09 Mr. Malagò, the General Director Mr. Diacetti, the responsible of the different sectors, the President of the Italian Swimming Federation Mr. Barelli, focused on the works advancement and of the approval of specific activities.
The agenda foresaw also budget, accommodation, transportation matters for the FINA Family, the Media and the Teams. 73 Nations, such as USA, Russia, Australia, Great Britain, France and Brazil has already granted their participation at the Championships. Other key points has been ticketing, medical services, hospitality and social programme, partners and sponsors.
At the end of the meeting the Executive Director Mr. Marculescu sure of the success of the future Championships, expressed his positive comments and agreements for what has been done within by the Roma09 Organizing Committee. The Roma09 President Mr. Malagò, on behalf of al the staff of the Committee, thanked for the accorded appreciation.
