Alessia Filippi back to school to present Roma 09
Back to school, three years later, as a star. Alessia Filippi, European champion in the 800 m free style and in the 400 m medley, and Olympic vice champion in the 800 m free style, entered again the “Emilio Sereni” school of Rome, together with Paolo Barelli, president of the Italian Swimming Federation and Patrizia Prestipino, Deputy Major for Policy of Tourism, Sports and Youth of the Province of Rome. Alessia graduated in this school in 2006. A long applause by students and professors greets her: she answers spreading herself in a wide smile. “I’m so excited – she says -. Until a few years ago I was attending this school, and now I’m talking about sport from the other side. Swimming is my passion: then I’m from Rome, and I really care about next World Championships”. Yes, because Italian swimmer is back to school to promote the 13th FINA World Championships Roma 09: an event that, as underlined by Barelli, “is second only to the Olympic Games”. And that proposes itself as suitable for kids: “I invite you to be present – says Barelli to the young audience – We have provided facilities for students”.
