July 28: a historic day
This July 28 will go down in history. For Alessia Filippi’s victory in the Women’s 1500m Freestyle, a wanted and announced triumph in the home pool: the first World victory in an unforgettable career. For the World record, the ninth one: the author is Federica Pellegrini, who is preparing a double success after the victory in the 400m Freestyle. For Michael Phelps’ defeat in the 200m Freestyle, where a German guy named Paul Biedermann sinks the Baltimora “Shark” snatching him the World Record and making him running the risk of coming back home with only the relay’s titles. For Spofforth’s record in the Women’s 100m Backstroke, Van Den Burgh’s one in the Men’s 50m Breaststroke and for Soni’s victory in the Women’s 100m Breaststroke and Japanese Koga’s one in the Men’s 100m Backstroke.
A July 28 that has to be framed: its protagonist will hardly forget it.
