Italians in the competition
Twelve “azzurri” are involved in today’s races. The first swimmers on the blocks were Caterina Giacchetti and Ilaria Bianchi in the 100m Butterfly, who are already out from the semifinals. Massimiliano Rosolino and Cesare Sciocchetti will follow with the heats of the 400m Freestyle, while Francesca Segat and Erica Buratto will try to enter the second round in the 200m Medley. Mattia Nalesso and Paolo Facchinelli will face the 50m Butterfly, and in the 400m Freestyle Italy will be represented by Flavia Zoccari and Federica Pellegrini. Luca Pizzini and Mattia Pesce will close the heats of the morning in the 100m Breaststroke.
